What drives Winnipeg prices

Winnipeg sits at the geographic centre of North America and works as a central distribution hub for the region. The Highway 1 and Highway 75 corridors meet here, with Highway 75 running south to the US I-29 connection, and a major rail intermodal yard anchors the city. That mix of east-west and north-south highway routes plus heavy rail intermodal capacity makes Winnipeg a place where freight changes hands and changes direction. Goods heading in every direction are consolidated and dispatched from here. As a central distribution hub it is built to move freight, not just to pass it through.
